BMI (Body Mass Index) is a simple and universally applied method for assessing the weight status of adults internationally.
BMI: < 18.5
May indicate nutritional deficiency or other health issues
BMI: 18.5 - 24.9
Healthy weight range for most adults
BMI: 25 - 29.9
May increase risk of health issues
BMI (Body Mass Index) is a screening tool that estimates body fat based on your height and weight. It applies to adult men and women.
BMI is a useful screening tool but not a perfect measure of health. It does not distinguish between muscle and fat mass, so athletes may have a high BMI despite having low body fat.
A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is generally considered a healthy weight range. Below 18.5 is underweight, 25.0–29.9 is overweight, and 30.0 or higher is obese.
